‘Design a Birthday Creation for us’ Competition!

Calling all young Designers and Creatives from Naval families!

To celebrate our Bicentenary, we are looking for budding young artists to design us a bespoke ‘200th birthday’ creation, using one of our FREE craft kits.

It could be a birthday card, a collage representing an event from our history or even your own life as a Naval child.

Prize:

1st Place – £200 Merlin Voucher

2nd Place – £25 Amazon Voucher

3rd Place – £15 Amazon Voucher

How to enter:

Click the ‘Get A Free Craft Kit’ button below, fill out the form and a free craft kit will be sent to you. (Please note; one box per household)

Once the creation has been completed, send a picture of it to us, making sure you include your name, age and address, at ncc@navalchildrenscharity.org.uk

There will be two age categories: 3yrs – 8yrs and 9yrs – 14yrs

Deadline: March 14th

Judging: Will be undertaken by members of our Youth Council.

Design a Birthday Creation Competition Terms and Conditions

Design a Birthday Creation competition is organised The Naval Children’s Charity. Registered Charity number – 1160182, OSCR – SC052322

By entering this competition, you are accepting these terms and conditions and are agreeing to be bound by them.

Participation in this competition is free, and no purchase is necessary in order to participate.

The competition is open to children and young people up to and including the age of 14, who have a parent/guardian who serves or has served in the Royal Navy (Royal Navy, Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRNS, Reserves or Royal Fleet Auxiliary). Only one entry per person is permitted.

Competition categories

Entries can be made in one of two categories.

The 3-8 years age range

The 9-14 years age range

Format

The competition theme is a celebration of The Naval Children’s Charity 200 anniversary.

Naval children & young people are being invited to use a free craft kit that will be supplied by the Charity, to make a celebratory creation of their choosing. It could be a birthday card, a collage representing an event from our history or even your own life as a Naval child.

Entry instructions

To enter the competition, you must send a picture of your competition entry by email to ncc@navalchildrenscharity.org.uk.

Closing date for entries is midnight Friday 14th March 2025.

Entries must include the competition entrant’s name, age, address, parental contact phone number

By entering the competition, you are agreeing to potentially have the entry appear on The Naval Children’s Charity website and social media platforms. Permission will be requested to include the family name, but this is not a condition of entry. We respect your confidentiality.

The Naval Children’s Charity will not be liable for entries not received.

Prizes

Each 1st place winners will receive a £200 Merlin voucher which will be valid for 12 months

2nd and 3rd prizes with be £25 and £15 Amazon gift vouchers respectively.

No cash or other alternative can be requested by the winner.

Vouchers will be delivered within 28 days of the closing date.

Judging

A selection of young people from our Youth Council (who are not eligible to enter the competition) have been appointed as judges. The judges’ decision will be final.

Each winner will be contacted by e-mail before 1st April 2025. The names of winners will be available on written request to The Naval Children’s Charity.

The decision of The Naval Children’s Charity is final on all matters relating to this competition and these terms and conditions.

Entrants’ personal details will not be disclosed to any third parties..

Employees of The Naval Children’s Charity and any immediate family members or co-habitats of such employees, are not eligible to enter the competition.
